West Virginia Republicans are holding a closed primary in 2026. That means only registered Republicans can vote in the Republican primary. If you are currently registered as independent or unaffiliated, you must switch your party to Republican before the April 21, 2026 deadline. It only takes a few minutes online.
Why Your Vote Matters
Participating in elections is one of the most important things you can do for our industry and our state. The candidates elected to office will make decisions that affect energy policy, jobs, taxes, infrastructure, and the future of West Virginia’s oil and natural gas industry.

Key Dates to Know
Voter Registration Deadline
Last day to register to vote, change your party affiliation, or update your address. Do not miss this deadline, especially if you are currently unaffiliated or independent.
Early Voting Period
Vote early at locations throughout your county. Hours vary — check the locations list before you go.
Primary Election Day
West Virginia Primary Election Day. Find your polling place and vote for candidates who support West Virginia's energy industry.
