March 18, 2026 / Charleston, W.Va. — The Gas and Oil Association of West Virginia (GO-WV) today announced its endorsement of U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito in the upcoming May 2026 primary election, citing her strong leadership and consistent support for responsible energy development.

“Senator Capito has been a steadfast advocate for West Virginia’s natural gas and oil industry, recognizing its critical role in powering our economy, supporting jobs, and strengthening our nation’s energy security,” said Rebecca McPhail, President-Elect of GO-WV. “Her commitment to responsible energy development, coupled with her leadership on streamlining permitting and cutting unnecessary regulatory delays, ensures that West Virginia remains competitive and continues to lead in energy production.”

Throughout her tenure, Senator Capito has championed policies that promote infrastructure development, regulatory certainty, and commonsense environmental stewardship—key priorities for GO-WV members and the communities they serve.

GO-WV is proud to support Senator Capito’s re-election and looks forward to continuing to work alongside her to advance policies that foster economic growth and energy leadership in West Virginia.
